How scoring works
Every guess gets rated by the prompt's author into one of six buckets. Each bucket awards points to both the guesser AND the drawer of that drawing — clarity rewards both sides of the chain. Funny is the one exception: it rewards the guesser for being creative without crediting the drawer for clarity.
| Bucket | Guesser | Drawer |
|---|---|---|
| Spot on | +50 | +30 |
| Very close | +35 | +20 |
| Close | +20 | +10 |
| Funny | +25 | +5 |
| Vague | +10 | +0 |
| Off | +0 | +0 |
Worked example. In a 3-player game, your one drawing gets rated by its prompt author who picks Spot on for both guesses on it (+30 + +30 = +60 drawer). Your two guesses each get rated Spot on as well (+50 + +50 = +100 guesser). Plus a Funny bonus on someone's drawing-of-yours (+5). Round delta: +165. Timeouts cost −5 each.
How SketchLoop works
- 3 to 15 players. Pick a name + avatar, then either start a new room or paste a code to join one. The avatar is purely cosmetic — hit "Change image" to roll a new DiceBear face until you like it.
- One chain per prompt, every round. You write a short prompt → someone else (never you) draws it → everyone except the drawer guesses → you rate the guesses people made on your prompt. Every player runs that loop in parallel each round, so a 5-player room generates 5 chains a round.
- Anonymity is preserved. Drawers don't know whose prompt they got, guessers don't know who drew it, and ratings see only the guesses (not who wrote them). The recap at the end reveals everything.
- Funny guesses score too. A wrong-but-creative guess rewards the guesser via the "Funny" bucket — clarity isn't the only path to points.
- Sharing. Every room has a 5-character code. Once you create one, the lobby shows Copy + Share link buttons; the share link is a `/sketchloop?code=XXXX` URL friends can tap to land on the join screen with the code already prefilled.
