Notes
How sharing works
- Notes are private to your browser until you press Share. Sharing creates a link; anyone with the link can read and edit that note.
- Open the same link on another device and both sides edit live — changes sync within about a second.
- Pasted images upload to secure storage when you share, so they appear on every device.
Good to know
- Unshared notes auto-save in this browser only (nothing is uploaded).
- Sync is last-write-wins: if two people type the same instant, the later save wins — great for back-and-forth, not for simultaneous heavy co-editing.
- Anyone with the link can edit, so only share notes you're happy to make link-accessible.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share a note?
Write your note, then press Share. You get a link — open it on any other device (or send it to someone) and they see the same note. Both sides can edit, and changes sync live.
Is it really real-time?
Yes. Once a note is shared, edits sync between devices within about a second through Firebase. A small indicator shows when someone else is in the note.
Does the other person need an account?
No. Anyone with the link can open and edit the note — no signup, no install. The link itself is the key.
Are my notes private?
Unshared notes never leave your browser (they auto-save in localStorage). A note only goes online when you press Share, and then anyone who has the link can read and edit it — so share only what you’re comfortable making link-accessible.
Can I paste images?
Yes — paste or drop images straight into a note. While local they stay in your browser; when you share, they upload so other devices can see them. Each image has a download button.
Is it free?
Completely free — no signup, no watermark. Rich text, images, multiple notes, and live sharing all included.
